Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Climbing Set

Welcome to the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom climbing armor set guide showing where to find all 3 pieces to help speed up scaling walls in the game.

It’s recommended that you find the climbing armor set as early as possible during your playthrough of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. This set will significantly increase the speed of climbing up walls and other surfaces and is vital to exploring the Depths later in the game. The first piece can quickly be acquired shortly after landing in Hyrule after the tutorial section of the game.

Refer to the Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Armor Guide for armor set locations and upgrade requirements, and the Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Guide for more tips on the game.

Climbing Gear

Shortly after landing on the surface of Hyrule, travel northwest of Lookout Landing and cross the Carok Bridge leading toward New Serenne Stable. Jump down the hole in the field on the north side of the road, not far from the stable. After dropping down from the first landing, swim behind the waterfall on the right to collect the first piece of the set: Climbing Gear.

Climbing Boots

Next, travel to Lanayru (home of the Zora) to the east of Central Hyrule. Then, look for a cave entrance on the south side of the mountain under the Upland Zorana Skyview Tower. Swim to the back-right side of the small pond near the entrance to the cave to find a path leading to the next piece of the set while running past the like-like in the tunnel. Once you reach the large room full of water, make your way toward the gate on the far side and rest frequently during the swim to regain stamina. When you have a foothold near the door, use Ultrahand to open the gate, draining the water. Finally, look in the room on the back-right side of the area under the stairs on the right and collect the Climbing Boots.

Climber’s Bandanna

Before attempting to get the Climber’s Bandanna, make a few Sticky Elixirs by combining a Sticky Frog or Sticky Lizard with any monster part. These will help prevent slipping on the walls in the final cave. Refer to the Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Recipe Guide for additional recipes.

Next, make your way to the cave entrance east of Zora’s Domain at the base of a cliff just west of the Ihen-a Shrine. Then, climb and shimmy your way up the walls moving from ledge to ledge until you reach the top at the end of the tunnel. Focus on climbing near the patches of moss to help reduce slipping and make sure you wear the other pieces of the Climbing Set. If you have any of the Froggy Set, those help too. Once you reach the top, run into the room on the right and collect the final piece of the Climbing Set, the Climber’s Bandanna.

With the full Climbing Set, you will ascend walls and surfaces significantly faster.
