Welcome to the Mortal Shell 2 Peter’s Perfect Parry achievement/trophy guide. This guide walks through how to setup and execute perfect guards for The Nameless Captive’s 7-hit headspin attack.

Peter’s Perfect Parry
Perfect Guard each one of The Nameless Captive’s headspins using the Untarnished Seal
Warning: This achievement/trophy can be missed and is one of the toughest to earn in Mortal Shell 2.
Setup
If you’re using a controller, it’s recommended to do the following: remap the Guard button to A/X and make sure the controller is plugged in. Face buttons are easier to press in rapid succession then bumpers or triggers. Plugging in the controller gets rid of a small delay with Bluetooth.
Make sure you equip the Untarnished Seal. Any other seal will not work.
The Nameless Captive Fight
You will need to perfect guard the 7-hit headspin attack from The Nameless Captive in the Prisoner’s Domain.
Get The Nameless Captive down to half health and execute the riposte attack. When he gets up, he will do a fast headspin combo. Avoid that one.
Don’t attack him in phase 2, just dodge and wait for the telegraphed, slower headspin attack (7 swings). Watch for when The Nameless Captive winds up and telegraphs the start of the combo.
You need to perfect guard each hit (indicated by the yellow spark).
The achievement or trophy should pop after guarding all 7 hits. He will continue doing the attack in the 2nd phase.
It’s recommended you let him kill you or exit out so you don’t kill him before earning it. Dodge all other attacks during phase 2 to avoid building up his break meter too fast. If it fills up, he will stagger before the 7th guard.
Headspin Combo
The 7-hit headspin contains the following:
- 2 slow swings – Try to move to the side during these to avoid getting pushed against the wall too fast.
- 4 rapid swings – Count out the 4-hit combo: 1…2…3…4.
- 1 delayed swing – Wait briefly and then finish with the final guard.
It helps to watch/listen to videos, like the one above where you watch and listen to the rhythm of the hits. Once you have the timing down, executing the guards with face buttons is much easier.
This can be saved until after you have defeated all other bosses.
