Unlocking the Expansion Quest
When you first launch Final Fantasy XVI after installing the Echoes of the Fallen DLC, the game will inform you that you need to complete Where There’s a Will and Priceless to access the content. Unfortunately, there are additional prerequisite steps that they fail to mention. Refer to the FF XVI: How to Unlock the Echoes of the Fallen Quest Guide for a step-by-step guide to help you quickly access the DLC if you did not complete all the side quests on your final playthrough.
Game Stats
- Difficulty: 3.5/10
- Time to Completion: 2-3 hours (add another 1-1.5 hours if you need to finish the prerequisite quests)
- Does Difficulty Affect Achievements/Trophies?: Yes. OMG must be earned in Final Fantasy mode.
- Missable Achievements/Trophies: No. You can replay missions to collect anything you missed with Stage Replay on the Arete Stone in the Hideout.
General Tips
- Play the expansion on Final Fantasy mode/difficulty if you’re aiming to get all trophies.
- Use the cheat rings to make the game significantly easier, especially in Final Fantasy difficulty.
- Feel free to experiment with different builds. You can refund ability points by holding Square.
Story Trophies
A Crystal Darkly
5G – Brave the dusk.
Automatic story trophy. This will unlock after speaking with Charon to start the Echoes of the Fallen DLC expansion and watching the story unfold.
The Only Way is Up
5G – Enter the spire.
Automatic story trophy. This will unlock after entering the cave that leads to the base of the tower during the Echoes of the Fallen main quest.
Repercussion
5G – Silence the echoes.
Automatic story trophy. This will unlock after completing the Echoes of the Fallen quest and turning it in with Charon in the Hideaway.
OMG
5G – Defeat Omega on "Final Fantasy" mode.
Play through the Echoes of the Fallen expansion while on Final Fantasy mode/difficulty. The expansion DLC is a linear experience and a single questline. After defeating the final boss, Omega, the trophy will unlock.
Gear Trophies
Bit Fit
5G – Obtain all Fallen bits.
Collect a total of 6 Fallen Bits in the Echoes of the Fallen expansion while exploring the tower. 2 will drop from story mini bosses. The other 4 are found in chests inside the tower.
- Escapement Bit – Chest to the left of the 2nd doorway.
- Nourishment Bit – Chest to the right of the doorway in the room with stasis vats on both sides after defeating enemies.
- Bombardment Bit – Dropped by the Omicron boss.
- Disengagement Bit – Chest to the right of the doorway just after defeating the Assault Unit OGR elite.
- Assailment Bit – Chest to the left of the doorway after taking the elevator after killing Angra Mainyu.
- Revivement Bit – Dropped by the Asterios boss.
My Reward is with Me
5G – Obtain the Omega Weapon.
After defeating Omega and completing the Echoes of the Fallen quest, return to Blackthorne, the blacksmith. Then, exchange the following materials and have it create either the Omega Weapon or the Omega Weapon Reforged. All of the materials are dropped by bosses and mini bosses in the tower.
- Fallen Enforcer or Fallen Enforcer Reforged (dropped by Sigma)
- Flawless Nodule x1 (dropped by Omega)
- Flawless Tissue x1 (dropped by Sigma)
- Flawless Humours x1 (dropped by Angra Mainyu)
