Welcome to the Resident Evil 4 Chapter 1 Collectibles guide for the 2023 remake. This guide will walk you through where to find all 6 treasures and the clockwork castellan in Chapter 1 while navigating the Village. During your first playthrough, make sure you trade with the merchant for each region’s map to simplify gathering treasures.
This guide shows the treasures found in the base game and does not include the extra treasures unlocked with the Deluxe Edition of the game. Those treasures are always shown on the map and are either found in chests or in gold lanterns hanging from trees/ceilings.

Village Square
W-870 Shotgun
The shotgun is found on the 2nd floor wall of the 2-story house in the Village Square.
Velvet Blue
Starting from the 2nd floor of the 2-story house, go out the window (A/X) onto the roof. Then follow it around to the right. The treasure is on the roof peak on the east side of the 1st floor’s roof.
Ruby
This ruby is found in the small house in the northeast corner of the Village Square just before passing through the gate to the Farm.
Farm
Pearl Pendant
Shoot the silver lantern spinning on the small windmill on the west side of the Farm. Make sure to hit it when it is on the right side of the windmill to avoid it falling into the well.
Flagon
Start on the 2nd story of the grain mill (where the cog is missing) on the Farm and exit out the door on the east side. Then jump down to the ground below and open the chest in the corner.
Ruby
Open the drawer of the small desk in the south corner of the barn (where you find the Wooden Cog) on the Farm.
Lakeside Settlement
Clockwork Castellan 1/16
Before breaking open the locked door to finish the chapter, go into the house on the right side of the area and shoot the clockwork castellan sitting on the rafters.
