Welcome to the Starfield Background Checks stealth guide. This guide will show how to get through the stealth section of the Ryujin Industries faction mission: Background Checks.

Starfield Background Checks Stealth
Before entering the building for the stealth section of the mission Background Checks, make sure you ask your companion to wait or send them back to The Lodge. Throughout the mission, save after successfully completing a new segment and you reach a safe location. Make sure you move slowly near guards so they don’t hear you moving.
In the first room, climb up the boxes on the left side and into the vent above. Then, follow the vent until you exit into a storage closet. In the next open space, slowly hug the right wall to stay clear of the guard on the left side. Continue hugging the right wall in the next room as well.
When you reach the peach-colored stairwell, take the stairs all the way to the top. After exiting the next room, stay on the left side and open the door directly in front of you. Then, climb the boxes in the closet to reach the vent on the ceiling. From the kitchen, wait for the guard patrolling the hall to turn around and walk away from you. Then, follow behind him, pick the lock, and enter the door on the right. Once the guard passes by again, hug the right wall and continue to the next door.
Follow the next set of vents to another supply closet near some heavy machinery. As you exit the closet, slowly hug the right wall, open the vent on the wall, and use it to bypass the next room of guards.
In the bright atrium after leaving the vent, wait for the mech guard to patrol back to the right.
Then, move into the lab while watching for the guard moving in and out of the room on the right. When he enters the small back room, sneak over to the base of the stairs.
Be aware that there is another guard at the top of the stairs on the left side. This one can be tricky. You need to move up the stairs and to the right just after the guard starts walking further to the left. At the top of the stairs, hide in the small alcove to the left in the back of the platform. Once the guard moves back to the left again, climb the refrigerator and enter the vents.
At the end of the vent, climb onto the beam on the right and slowly crouch across it to the other side. Then, enter the vent on the left. After exiting the vent, head up the stairs and use the gap in the wall partition to watch the guard. When the guard walks away from you on the right side of the room, head in and hug the left wall until you reach the office.
Follow the mission prompts on the computer and exit the room through the vent in the ceiling.
