Welcome to the Resident Evil 4 Chapter 9 Collectibles guide for the 2023 remake. This guide will walk you through where to find all 10 treasures and the clockwork castellan in Chapter 9 while navigating the Castle. During your first playthrough, make sure you trade with the merchant for each region’s map to simplify gathering treasures.
This guide shows the treasures found in the base game and does not include the extra treasures unlocked with the Deluxe Edition of the game. Those treasures are always shown on the map and are either found in chests or in lanterns hanging from trees/ceilings.

Courtyard
Clockwork Castellan 9/16
When you enter the Courtyard hedge maze work your way to the side of the stairwell where you first come down. You can do this by taking a left at the large area in the middle of the maze and following the left wall along. Once you reach the side of the stairway, you will see a pile of debris with a cloth over it and a First Aid Spray. Shoot the clockwork castellan behind the debris on the right.
Elegant Chessboard
Enter the small room on the east side of the hedge maze before ascending the 2nd tower to flip the switch.
Wine Cellar
Depraved Idol
Take the west exit from the hedge maze and backtrack to the Wine Cellar where you fought the red-robed enemy. Just after the exit is a gate with yellow paint above it that Ashley can climb over to open the door. The treasure is in a blue chest behind the gate. Watch out for the infected knight who will attack while Ashley is on the other side.
Grand Hall
Alexandrite
Shoot/Knife the silver lantern hanging on the 3rd statue on the right side of the Grand Hall.
Armory
Small Key
Head upstairs from the foyer and through the door on the north side to enter the Armory. The small key is in the cabinet on the left after entering the first room.
Cubic Device
This special key is found just after exiting the Armory in a chest sitting on a raised pedestal.
Gallery
Yellow Diamond
Flip the switch on the balcony of the Gallery to raise the platform giving you access to the Goat Head. The treasure is under the platform in a blue chest.
Merchant’s Room
Butterfly Lamp
Return to the Merchant’s Room and use the Cubic Device on the square lock box to unlock the treasure.
Audience Chamber
Gold Bar
Return to the Audience Chamber via the gondola next to the merchant. Once there, use the small key to unlock the drawer on the north side of the room for the treasure.
Justitia Statue
While in the Audience Chamber, use the Cubic Device on the square lock box in the northwest corner to unlock the treasure.
Library
Bunch of Keys
While playing as Ashley in the Library, place the lantern on a pedestal to open a passage and use the crank to reveal a staircase. Upstairs you will find the keys sitting on a table.
Elegant Perfume Bottle
After Acquiring the keys as Ashley in the Library, hug the west/left wall and go under the bookshelf to find a chest. Use the 2nd key to open the chest for the treasure.
Sapphire
In the save room above the library, use the 4th key to open the chest behind the shelves on the right side of the room.
Mausoleum
Emerald
In the hall just after ringing 4 bells and avoiding the knights, the treasure is hidden behind a partition on the right. Use the 1st key to open the chest for the treasure.
