Refer to the Hogwarts Legacy Challenges Guide for a full list of challenges and completion requirements.
Collector’s Edition
40G – Complete all collections
While exploring in Hogwarts Legacy, keep an eye out for the requirements in each of the collection categories. Refer to the Hogwarts Legacy Collectibles Guide for more details.

Demiguise Dread

Once you have 9 statues in your inventory, return to the caretaker to learn Alohomora II. Then, after finding another 13 statues, return again for Alohomora III. Once you can open level 2 locks, you can finish collecting the Demiguise statues throughout the game.
Room of Requirement
Going Through the Potions
30G – Brew every type of potion
The 6 potions needed for the achievement/trophy can be brewed in the Room of Requirement after you unlock it and conjure a potion table during the main quest: Interior Decorating. Recipes are purchase from Pippin’s Potions while you are in Hogsmeade.
Please note that brewing potions only counts if you have room in your inventory to collect them, so you will need to use a potion to free up space. If you are full on Wiggenweld Potions, you need to get hurt first, then press D-Pad Down to heal.
Also note that the first Wiggenweld Potion brewed in Potions Class does not count toward the achievement/trophy. If you are missing an ingredient, they may be found in the world outside Hogwarts or you can purchase them from either Pippin’s Potions or The Magic Neep. Both can be found in the northwest part of Hogsmeade while you are visiting.

The Nature of the Beast
30G – Breed every type of beast
During Deek’s second quest: Foal of the Dead, he will teach you how to breed beasts. Purchase the Breeding Pen from Tomes and Scrolls when you are in Hogsmeade. Then, conjure a breeding pen in each of the 3 beast habitats and start breeding pairs of beasts.
Capturing rare beasts is more difficult than the tutorial. Approach the beasts while using Disillusionment (stealth). Then cast Arresto Momentum to temporarily slow/freeze the beast while you use the Nab-Sack. When the Nab-Sack is activated, press
/
each time the animation completes a full circle around the icon. Repeat until the beast is captured. Rare beasts won’t always have male and females in the same location, so try additional beast habitats until you find one of each.

Quest Achievements
The Good Samaritan
40G – Complete all side quests
Side quests will unlock while you travel around the map and complete other activities. The 5 summoner’s court matches will slowly unlock over time with a gap between completing each one. As soon as one pops up, head over to the board and complete the quest so you have less down time waiting on quests to unlock.
Also, get an early start on The Daedalian Keys quest in Hogwarts. It requires you to collect 16 house keys hidden in cabinets throughout Hogwarts that are unlocked with flying keys and will take the most time to complete. Listen for the sound of the keys or use Revelio to see where they are located while exploring the castle.

A Sallow Grave

Sebastian’s questline starts with In the Shadow of the Bloodline and concludes with In the Shadow of Friendship. His relationship quests will continue to unlock as you progress during the main story. While playing the quests, feel free to choose any dialog options. However, if you encourage Sebastian to use and teach you curses (missable, but not required for The Spell Master), you will gain them to use in battle.
- In the Shadow of the Study – Crucio
- In the Shadow of Time – Imperio
- In the Shadow of the Relic – Avada Kedavra

After completing the main quest: Flying Class and purchasing a broom at Spintwitches Sporting Needs while in Hogsmeade, work on the side quest: Flight Test. During the questline, you will race against Imelda’s best times on 3 routes. After each race, return to the broom shop, report your findings, wait for the shopkeeper to contact you, then purchase the upgrade. Repeat the process 3 times and the achievement/trophy will unlock after speaking with Imelda after the third race.
Note that the final race is along the coastline in the south. Follow the guide for Coasting Along to reach it.
Spilled Milk
10G – Use Flipendo ten times – to tip one cow or several
Flipendo will unlock during Professor Garlick’s Assignment 2. Once you have the spell, locate cows in the open world (there are some just south of the East Hogsmeade Valley floo next to the traveling vendor). Then, cast Flipendo on one of the cows 10 times and the achievement/trophy will unlock.
The Ends Petrify the Means
30G – Defeat a total of fifty enemies using Petrificus Totalus
After completing the main quest: Secrets of the Restricted Section and unlocking both Disillusionment (stealth) and Petrificus Totalus, you can start using stealth to take out enemies in camps and caves. When you first enter an area with enemies (easily done at Bandit Camps), cast Disillusionment to stealth and sneak behind enemies. Then, press
/
to cast Petrificus Totalus.
Combat Achievements
A Keen Sense of Spell
10G – Invoke Ancient Magic for the first time
When you see the LB+RB/L1+R1 prompt during battles, press the combo to invoke Ancient Magic on your enemies. The first time you use Ancient Magic on an enemy during a fight, the achievement/trophy will unlock.
The Root of the Problem
10G – Stun 10 different enemies using a Mandrake
Purchase a Mandrake Seed from Dogweed and Deathcap (northeast corner) while you are in Hogsmeade. Then, head back to the Room of Requirement and plant it on a potting table (any size works). Wait 10 minutes, then harvest the Mandrakes. Equip the Mandrake by holding LB/L1 and selecting it during battle. Then use the Mandrake (LB/L1) at the start of each battle, preferably when you have more than one type of enemy within range. The achievement will unlock once you have used Mandrake on 10 different enemies.
Finishing Touches
30G – Use Ancient Magic on every enemy in the game
When you see the LB+RB/L1+R1 prompt during battles, press the combo to invoke Ancient Magic on your enemies. Each time you encounter a new enemy, use Ancient Magic on them during combat to make sure it counts toward the achievement/trophy. Watch for similar names like “Ashwinder Ranger” and “Poacher Ranger”. Unique enemies from quests don’t appear to count, but it doesn’t hurt to hit them with Ancient Magic at least once during battle.
The achievement/trophy should unlock by the time you complete the main and all side quests. Unfortunately, there is no clear way to track which enemies you have already hit with Ancient Magic.
Rise to the Challenges
40G – Defeat enemies in all battle arenas
Unlock the two battle arenas by traveling to their locations and destroying all pots around the structure. Once that is done, a portal will open in the middle of the building that will transport you to the arena. Survive all 5 waves of enemies at both locations, and the achievement/trophy will pop. This is significantly easier on Story difficulty. However, playing on higher difficulties will increase the chance that you can get a combo off 100+ for Raising Expectations.

Raising Expectations
20G – Reach a combo of 100
In order to maintain a combo, you need to keep dealing damage without getting hit. The battle arenas are a good place to work on this achievement/trophy, but you may also unlock it during the main quests near the end of the game where you fight longer battles. If you’re having trouble unlocking this, make sure you bump your difficulty up to at least Easy and you avoid big damage attacks (curses and Ancient Magic), so you can hit each enemy more times.
That’s it for the Hogwarts Legacy achievements guide. Please post any questions or comments below. Thanks.
