BG3 Gortash’s Fancy Footwork
The developers of Baldur’s Gate 3 designed most questlines so that they may be completed in multiple ways. Thus, giving the players more freedom in how they approach situations. This guide represents one method that is confirmed to unlock this achievement or trophy.
This guide takes place when Gortash is still inside the Audience Hall during the coronation. If he has moved upstairs, you will need to approach this differently.
There are two ways into Gortash’s Audience Hall on the 2nd floor of Wyrm’s Rock: the main entrance and the back. Instead of going up the stairs on the east side of Wyrm’s Rock, go around the left side of the stairway. There you will find a lever on the wall behind a crate. Then, pull the lever to reveal a hidden passage leading outside.
Work your way clockwise around the fortress until you reach a ladder followed by climbable vines. At the top, you will find a doorway that can be picked, giving you entrance into the hallway directly behind the throne.
Open either door to start the fight to initiate the battle. Place 2 characters at each door to lure Gortash into the hall and cover the choke points. By fighting in the back hallway, you will avoid triggering the traps that are scattered around the Audience Hall. As soon as Gortash enters the back hall, focus all damage on him and burn down his health bar. If you have melee character who need to move closer to Gortash, use Disengage to move without getting hit. Once Gortash is killed, the Fancy Footwork achievement or trophy will unlock.
